Baku – APA. Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project will strengthen the fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, said the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the press conference following the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
R. T. Erdogan noted that Baku-Tbilis-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum and Baku Tbilisi-Kars are important investment projects showing strong relationship between the two countries: “These show that at what level our political, economic, cultural, defense and trade relations are. Our fraternity and solidarity will continue further, let no one cast doubt upon it. We thoroughly discussed all spheres of mutual cooperation at our bilateral meeting and all issues were discussed at the negotiations held with the participation of delegations. Our ministers discussed development of links in energy and military industry. High-level mutual visits between Azerbaijan and Turkey have recently increased. Such visits will continue in the future.”
Asked about when the foundations of TANAP project will be laid down, Erdogan said the expropriation process is underway in Turkey: “We want this project to be implemented soon. We can lay down the foundations of TANAP project by the year-end. It’s important to start pipe installation soon.”
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said TANAP is the joint project of Azerbaijan and Turkey: “Two countries are authors of this project. The state leaders’ will played an important role in this project. Implementation of the project will bring close our ties and increase political and economic opportunities. We want to implement the project on time. Everything is on the schedule, I think we will hold the opening ceremony of the project in 2018”.
