Azerbaijani president receives delegation led by mayor of Moscow

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani Presdient Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin on September 25.
According to APA, the head of state noted that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are developing dynamically and successfully. President Ilham Aliyev said the two countries actively are cooperating both at a high level and at the level of relevant structures and ministries, emphasizing the importance of the issues discussed at the last meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. The head of state also stressed the significance of traditional relations with the city of Moscow, adding that large-scale reconstruction works lately carried out in the Russian capital have aroused great interest.
President Ilham Aliyev also said Baku is also undergoing rapid development and landscaping works and that he believes the exchange of experience between the two capitals will be efficient.
The president then touched upon economic and trade relations with Moscow, expressing his confidence that the amount of Azerbaijani products to be sent to the Russian capital will be increased even more.
The head of state said he hopes the visit of the delegation led by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin will pave the way for further development of bilateral relations and him becoming even more familiar with the country.
“Indeed, Moscow has a long history of friendly relations with Azerbaijan, and it is quite good that these relations continue to grow today”, Sobyanin said.
Stressing the importance of an increase in the trade turnover, the Moscow mayor said that amount of food products sent to the capital of Russia by Azerbaijan has tripled and there are good opportunities for further expansion of this amount. Noting that the memorandum and other agreements to be signed by the Azerbaijani government and the city of Moscow will envisage specific issues regarding the further expansion of economic cooperation, Sobyanin regarded these documents as signs of trade and economic relations reaching a milestone.
