Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Ibrahim Al-Jafari, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq

Baku-APA. Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Ibrahim Al-Jafari, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq on the sidelines of 69th session of UN General Assembly on September 25, 2014, APA reports.

During the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with the current development of Azerbaijan-Iraq relations.

Ibrahim Al-Jafari informed about the current situation in Iraq. Noting the recent events which caused damage to infrastructure in Iraq, he asked to consider the possibilities of Azerbaijan's participation in rebuilding of Iraq's infrastructure.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov speaking about his recent visit to Iraq added that consistent efforts are undertaken to pursue the arrangements agreed during the visit.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov informed his Iraqi counterpart on current status of Armenia -Azerbaijan conflict and ongoing negotiation process.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stressing the fact of non-fulfillment the demands of UNSC resolutions by Armenia highly appreciated the support of friendly countries in the just settlement of the conflict on the basis of principles of international law.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov invited Iraqi Minister to visit Azerbaijan and he delighfully accepted the invitation.

At the meeting the views were exchanged on a range of issues of mutual interest.
