Minister Elmar Mammadyarov meets Afghan counterpart

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Zarar Ahmad Osmani as part of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA.

During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the level of development of relations between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan, projects initiated by Azerbaijan and implemented with its participation and discussed Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project.

The Foreign Minister of Afghanistan mentioned that his country is interested in gaining access to this corridor through the Central Asia.

At the meeting the ministers discussed the expansion of the legal framework between the two countries, our country’s involvement in infrastructure projects in Afghanistan and issues of cooperation within international organizations.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
