Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. “You can not identify the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with the Crimea crisis. I think these problems are quite different. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has nothing to do with Crimea,” member of the Russian Federation Council Igor Morozov told APA’s Moscow correspondent.

Igor Morozov said that a historical justice had been restored in Crimea: “Crimea was a part of Russia. The people held a referendum to restore a historical justice. It is wrong to identify the Crimea crisis with other conflicts.”

According to Morozov, the fact that Azerbaijan voted for the resolution on Ukraine in the UN General Assembly can not affect Russia-Azerbaijan relations: “Naturally, we regretted after learning that our partners in the CIS voted for this resolution. Perhaps, Azerbaijan estimated the situation in Crimea in the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. And thus such a decision was taken. But we consider that the position of Azerbaijan does not have impact on friendly relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. The two countries have close cooperation and partnership in a number of areas. We also share a common centuries-long culture and history. Friendly relations exist among our people. These relations should continue.”
