OIC Labour Centre and Senegal sign strategic partnership memorandum

A delegation led by Mamadou Lamine Dianté, Minister of Civil Service, Labour and Public Service Reform of the Republic of Senegal, paid a working visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of the Labour Centre of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC Labour Centre), APA reports.

The visit aims to strengthen institutional ties between Azerbaijan and Senegal, exchange experience in relevant fields and expand opportunities for cooperation.

As part of the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between Azar Bayramov, Director General of the OIC Labour Centre, and Mamadou Lamine Dianté, Minister of Civil Service, Labour and Public Service Reform of Senegal. The meeting discussed expanding cooperation in the field of occupational safety and health, as well as preparations for the 24th World Congress on Safety and Health at Work, to be held in Dakar in 2027.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic partnership within the framework of the 24th World Congress on Safety and Health at Work was signed between the OIC Labour Centre and the Ministry of Civil Service, Labour and Public Service Reform of the Republic of Senegal.

The Memorandum was signed by Azar Bayramov, Director General of the OIC Labour Centre, and Mamadou Lamine Dianté, Minister of Civil Service, Labour and Public Service Reform of Senegal.

The Memorandum of Understanding defines the OIC Labour Centre’s participation as a Strategic Partner in the World Congress to be held in Dakar on April 26–30, 2027, as well as the main areas of cooperation in occupational safety and health.

Within the framework of the strategic partnership, the focus will be on the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence on occupational safety and health, as well as research, technical cooperation and the development of practical solutions in this field.

Notably, the OIC Labour Centre, headquartered in Baku, is an international intergovernmental organization that has been operating since 2024. The Centre’s activities cover the 57 member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and serve to strengthen cooperation in the fields of labour, employment, social protection and human capital development.
