The Southern Gas Corridor has significantly strengthened energy security and diversification. Georgia is proud to participate in this process as a reliable transit country, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, said in a Facebook post while attending the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council held in Baku, APA’s local bureau reports.
She noted that the Southern Gas Corridor is a clear example of what can be achieved through joint efforts.
“Georgia has proven that it is an active supporter and indispensable participant of the Southern Gas Corridor, and remains committed to strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation among all parties. Natural gas transported via Georgia is of great importance for the diversification of international energy markets, particularly those of the European Union, and for improving supply security,” the minister wrote.
