Today, Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to discuss prospective infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan, APA reports, citing the Press Service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The meeting highlighted the long-standing and fruitful partnership between Azerbaijan and the ADB.
It was noted that over the years, the Bank has supported the development of various sectors of the Azerbaijani economy. Satisfaction was expressed with the successful implementation of joint projects covering transportation, water supply, energy, finance, education, healthcare, and other areas.
It was also emphasized that Azerbaijan participates in the ADB’s initiative to assist less developed countries and contributes to the Bank’s Asia Development Fund.
The discussion touched on the favorable investment and business environment in Azerbaijan, programs for the restoration and economic revival of territories liberated from occupation, and the investment potential of these areas.
Additionally, cooperation opportunities under the 2025–2029 Country Partnership Strategy, approved in July of this year, were reviewed. Priority areas discussed included the expansion of the metro network, improvement of railway infrastructure, enhancement of the water supply system, and several other prospective bilateral projects.
