Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Thailand’s Foreign Minister Sihasak Puanqketkeo in Bangkok within the framework of the 82nd session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
It was noted that during the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Thailand were discussed, and the existing potential for expanding cooperation was highly appreciated. Opportunities for developing political dialogue, expanding economic and trade cooperation, and deepening ties in the fields of culture and tourism were reviewed.
The official opening of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Thailand in December 2025, as well as the holding of the first political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, were highlighted as important milestones in the development of bilateral relations. It was emphasized that these steps contributed to strengthening the institutional foundations of Azerbaijan-Thailand relations and further systematizing cooperation.
The importance of strengthening mutual engagement on multilateral platforms was also noted during the meeting. Prospects for expanding cooperation within the framework of the UN, UNESCAP, ASEM, ASEAN, and other international organizations were discussed, and confidence was expressed that the 82nd session of UNESCAP, chaired by Azerbaijan and hosted by Thailand, would yield productive results.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed his counterpart in detail about Azerbaijan’s peace initiatives in the post-conflict period, measures taken to clear mines from the liberated territories, as well as large-scale reconstruction and restoration work carried out in those areas.
The ministers also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul during a visit to Bangkok, the Azerbaijan MFA said in an X post, APA reports.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 82nd session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), according to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
The two sides discussed Azerbaijan’s priorities during its chairmanship of UNESCAP, as well as prospects for bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Thailand.
Regional issues were also on the agenda, the ministry said.
