Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov has met Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, the talks focused on prospects for both bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The ministers underlined the importance of strengthening ties within international platforms, including the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
They noted that discussions held during the COP29 Leaders’ Summit in Baku, where Rwanda’s president was received by Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, had created new opportunities for advancing relations.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the growing momentum in ties, highlighting the role of high-level visits and political consultations between their foreign ministries.
The meeting also explored cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade, investment, mining, oil and gas, agriculture and education. Azerbaijan’s “ASAN service” model for public services was discussed, with Rwanda showing interest in adopting a similar approach.
The Rwandan side also noted its preparations to host Formula One races and highlighted Azerbaijan’s experience in the field as potentially beneficial. Rwanda’s participation in Azerbaijan’s education scholarship programmes was also welcomed.
The ministers further exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
