The UN Security Council is in a state of paralysis, said former Foreign Minister of Egypt and former Secretary-General of the Arab League Amr Moussa during the panel discussion titled “Global Security and the Balance of Power: Respect for International Law, New Issues, New Challenges” at the 13th Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
He stated that the issue here concerns “double standards”: “Double standards have negatively affected the international system. If we are talking about new rules for the international order, we must eliminate double standards. Unfortunately, this has also found a place in Western foreign policy. If you do not acknowledge that 60,000 Palestinians have been killed, this is already an injustice. For some reason, no one speaks about this. Of course, the Palestinians are resisting this occupation. We must work together to find peaceful solutions. It is not possible to find any reasonable solution to the situation managed by Israel. If the State of Israel exists, there must also be a State of Palestine. If there is no State of Palestine, there will be no peace in the Middle East.”
