Relations between China and Azerbaijan are developing dynamically this year under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries and have great potential, Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei said at a briefing for journalists, APA reports.
The diplomat noted that the relevant institutions of both countries are working in close coordination to implement the important agreements reached between the heads of state. This contributes to the further development of bilateral relations and the achievement of new results.
According to the ambassador, high-level contacts between China and Azerbaijan have remained intensive since the beginning of this year.
She recalled that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Azerbaijan to participate in the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
The ambassador noted that during his meetings with President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Wang Yi comprehensively discussed the deepening of China-Azerbaijan relations and prospects for practical cooperation. These meetings gave new impetus to the development of bilateral relations.
The diplomat also added that cooperation between the Communist Party of China and the New Azerbaijan Party would be expanded.
