Baku branch of Moscow State University inaugurated with participation of the President - <font color=red>UPDATED</font>

Chief of Russian Presidentâ€™s Office Sergey Naryshkin, Russian Minister of Education and Science Andrei Fursenko, Viktor Antonovich Sadovnichy, Rector of Moscow State University, Polad Bulbuloglu, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia and Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasily Istratov participated in the event as well.

Rector of the branch, Professor Nargiz Pashayeva acquainted the guests with the university.

The President addressing the event expressed his satisfaction with opening of one more university in Azerbaijan and expressed his confidence that the university would become one of the leading universities of the country. The Head of State expressed his gladness for participation of Chief of Russian Presidentâ€™s Office, Russian Minister of Education and Science, Minister of Energy and Rector of Moscow State University in the event. The President noted that the idea on establishment of the branch of this university was several years ago and stressed that MSU was one of the leading universities of Russia. Aliyev added that Russia supported the idea and he discussed the issue during the meetings with Russian leadership.

Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the inauguration of the universityâ€™s branch had an important significance in the development of Azerbaijani-Russian cooperation. â€œThis is an indication of the high level of our relationship and Russiaâ€™s attention to Azerbaijan. We will also give the government support to this education centerâ€.

The President said the high education center had a modern building and level of education there was meeting the standards of Moscow State University.

Narishkin also called the inauguration of the branch as an important event in the life of both countries. Especially he noted it from the view of â€œYouth Yearâ€ declared in CIS this year. He expressed gratitude to President Aliyev for his contribution to the opening of the universityâ€™s branch and to the development of the Russian language. â€œThere is a great attention to the Russian language in Azerbaijan. The Baku branch of the Moscow State University is the next strategic partnership bridge between our countriesâ€.

Rector of the Moscow State University Victor Sadovnichiy said the opening of the universityâ€™s branch so quickly was a â€œmiracleâ€. â€œThe Moscow State University highly appreciated the President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s efforts in this work. Professors of our University are working at the Baku branch with great pleasure. Even there is a line of professors, who show willingness to go to Bakuâ€.

Rector of the universityâ€™s branch Nargiz Pashayeva expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani and Russian leaderships for their assistance to the opening of this education center.

In the end, Narishkin presented â€œRoszarubejcentrâ€ Honorary Badge to Nargiz Pashayeva for her contribution to the development of friendly relations of Azerbaijani and Russian peoples.
