Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministries sign protocol of intention

Prior to the discussions, the members of the delegation visited Heydar Aliyevâ€™s grave in the Alley of Honors and Martyrsâ€™ Alley.

The discussions focused on the legal state of the citizens of both countries living in Azerbaijan and Russia, ways of solving their problems, particularly the state of Azerbaijanis living in Russia, murders against them, problems emerging while deporting Azerbaijani citizens living in Russia illegally, detention conditions of the persons to be deported, complaint of the citizens claiming to have been deported illegally, migration problems and readmission.

Representatives of Interior Ministries, Justice Ministries, Ministries of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Border, Migration and Customs services of both countries attended the discussions and gave their proposals.

Chief of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministryâ€™s Consulate Department, Ambassador Nadir Huseynov led Azerbaijani delegation and Ambassador Lev Pauzin led Russian delegation. The sides signed protocol of intention at the end of the discussions.

Previous discussions on consulate-related issues between Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministries were held in Moscow on January 30-31, 2007.
