Retrospective of Polish Director Krzysztof Zanussi’s films opened in Baku

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova –APA. Retrospective of Polish Film Director Krzysztof Zanussi’s films has been opened in Baku within the 10th East-West International film festival. The first film in the retrospective is “Persona Non Grata” directed by Zanussi three years ago, APA reports. The filmmaker spoke about the plotline of the film and said it had autobiographic character and was closer to him mostly. Zanussi said he made film in 2005 in Poland, Moscow and Uruguay. Chairman of Azerbaijan Cinematographers Union and festival’s organizing committee Rustam Ibrahimbeyov rewarded Zanussi for his contribution to the development of Eurasian cinematograph. The retrospective of Zanussi’s “In Full Gallop” and “Camouflage” will be organized held on June 3-4.
Round table entitled “National cinematograph and film distribution: problems and prospects” has been held on Monday in Absheron Hotel within the 10th East-West International Film Festival. “Russian Roulette” (Russia) is shown now in “Azerbaijan” cinema house. “La Vie En Rose” (France) will be shown this evening.
