Baku. APA. French cinema club will be opened in Azerbaijan on the initiative of the French Embassy in Azerbaijan and “Ibrus” theatre, Press-Service of the French Embassy told APA. Cultural section of the embassy aims to create alternative for the local cinema programs, which prefer expensive adventure films. “Ibrus” theatre joining to the initiative declared club open to the film fans. They will be able to watch famous French movies once a month. The club will be opened on April 23 with the demonstration of “Mon Oncle” (My Uncle), 50-year-old movie directed by Jacques Tati. The film will be shown in original version in French, with English titles and Russian dubbing as well. Next séances will be entitled “Movies not shown in the Soviet period”. Three films of “The New Wave” cinema group, whish were banned during the Soviet time will be demonstrated in the club. The club is open to the public. Booklet containing additional information about the film and its authors will be submitted to the viewers before the séance.
