Polad Bulbuloglu: “Azerbaijan is not rushing for NATO”

APA’s Russian Bureau reports, the Press-Conference entitled “Russia-Azerbaijan: horizons of cooperation” was dedicated to the 16th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Opening the Press-Conference, Grigoriy Karasin said the cooperation between the two countries brought successful results and the development of these relations were unavoidable. Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu touching upon the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh problem said Azerbaijan advocated for the peaceful solution of the conflict. “Azerbaijan wants to solve the problems arisen from the conflict peacefully through the negotiations”. Responding the question about the probability of Azerbaijan’s integration into NATO, the Ambassador said Azerbaijan was not rushing to join the alliance. Polad Bulbuloglu said his country kept relations with Russia at the level of peaceful neighborhood and developed cooperation in cultural, economic, political, humanitarian and other fields. Speaking about the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ voting against the UN resolution on the Situation of occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the Ambassador said that currently 40 countries were supporting Azerbaijan’s position on this issue. Regarding the probability of handing the Gabala Radar System over to joint utilization of Russia and US, Ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu said this project depended on the development of negotiations between Russia and US.
