Academic and national statuses of Azerbaijani theatres

Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers passed a decision on approval of â€œRules of the theatres academic and national statusesâ€, government sources told APA, The Cabinet will grant the academic and national statuses to theatres on the initiative of their troupes and introduction of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. High professionalism, perfect creation and monumental spectacles demonstrating rich historical traditions and mankind values and performing in the international stages, as well as outstanding directors, conductors and choreographers, who attend numerous international festivals and contests will lead theatres to the academic status. A national status will be granted to the theatres regulating experimental creative searches for their protection, enrichment and development of national culture, huge respect of regional and local audience, high-quality artists, talented young personal included directors, conductors, ballet and choir masters, who are going to receive Bachelor or Master of Arts. Academic and national theatres will lose their statuses in cases of creative gap and lowering of spectacles artistic quality. Theatres introduced to the academic or national statuses should officially be approved their activity and fruitful indications over the last decade.
