He said that the prisoners will be handed over on the joint efforts of the Embassy and Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
“China taking friendship relations with Azerbaijan into consideration agreed to hand over four Azeri prisoners detained in this country to Azerbaijan,†he said.
The ambassador stated that though one of the detainees was sentenced to death, this decision was commuted to life imprisonment later on. Elshan Aliyev, Etibar Ismayilov, Khalig Hasanov and Elshad Mikayilov are among the prisoners who will be handed over to our country. Two more Azeris were also held accountable for crimes in China except the above-said prisoners.
One of the Azeri prisoners was detained for drugs and sentenced to death. The other detainee is a mother of many children who was detained for robbery. Yashar Aliyev said that the Embassy will do its best for also handing these prisoners over to Azerbaijan. /APA/
