13 Films to be demonstrated in East-West Baku International Film Festival
Organizing committee held a press conference at Azerbaijan Cinematographers’ Union devoted to the event. The festival’s director Abbas Aliyev said that the festival was established by Azerbaijan Cinematographers’ Union and the Fund of 100th anniversary of the world film in Azerbaijan, with support of CIS and Baltic States’ cinematographers’ union in 1996. The festival was organized as Filmfest before:†Cultural variety of the mankind-is very important condition of its existence. Baku International Film Festival changed its name to “East-West†in 1999 according to this activity conception.
Successful films will be demonstrated in the film festival like previous years. Opening ceremony of the festival will take place in Azerbaijan state Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. The films will cinema be demonstrated in Azerbaijan and Ibrus theatre.
The nominations, like, the best actress, the best actor, the most humanist notification to the world, for the contribution to world film development will be awarded in the closing ceremony to be held in Azerbaijan cinema on September 10.
