Main player of “Destiny of the King” (Hokmdarin taleyi) Fakhraddin Manafov’s and Vagif Asadullayev’s interview to the APA

-Former Culture Minister Polad Bulbuloglu told me to make the film in producer center “A.S.V.A Profi Studia XXI”. I said it would be just my pleasure to make this film. We started preparations for the film that year. We did our best, and portrayed our thoughts.
-Ramiz Fataliyev represents himself as a producer of the film. He even refuted sayings as if he was left out from the movie. What is real situation?
-Vagif Asadullayev: I and Fakhraddin Manafov have confirmed the actors with author’s agreement. Then Ramiz Fataliyev and Dilshad Fatkhulin have been involved into. For some period we worked on the film together, but then had to break up as our thoughts were different. This break did not affect the movie at all. We, three, Fakhraddin Manafov, Dilshad Fatkhulin and Vagif Asadullayev ended the movie up.
-Mr.Manafov what did make you and Vagif Asadullayev involve Ramiz Fataliyev into the film?
-Fakhraddin Manafov: Every man in movie sphere knows that if you are making a film then you have to be on the shooting area from the first day on and u must have your idea and conception. You have to realize why you are working on that movie and what the final is supposed to be. So we appealed to Ramiz Fataliyev according to the conception that we had already made. First, we are friends and have been working together for a long time. If he thinks something different it is his business. We were not obliged to invite Ramiz Fataliyev we just needed him. Because not every nation has such a great master like Ramiz Fataliyev. I am an actor, I am not a producer, but maybe I had such a desire and I say it obviously. I think that I am capable of something and I can do it myself. Ramiz Fataliyev agreed and I even cried of the happiness. We were really we, three friends, will work on the movie but unfortunately it did not have a happy end…
-How did it end?
-Fakhraddin Manafov: I’m not beholden to clarify all facts concerning it. But I have to say one thing. One can be a great writer, professional producer but can be responsible for everything. You have to take into consideration that there are 120 people working on it, and they will million after the movie comes out. It is just my additional.
- Did you need the invitation of such a producer like Dilshad Fatkhulin from Russia?
-Vagif Asadullayev: Yes we did. We really needed someone professional and especially someone who is aware of up-to-date technology fro the film. Dilshad Fatkhulin is an honored art figure. We need her professionalism.
-Were there any problems occurred on shooting area?
-Fakhraddin Manafov: We have known each other since 1984. He is an extremely gentle man. I could never think that he had an enemy. Such a man must not have problems. If anybody got fussed it is not Fatkhulin’s fault, it is his or her own fault. It is just a great happiness to have worked with such a great person.
His aristocracy was that despite over his 70 and being a professional, he was following our advice. You see how admirable is her culture and humanism.
-Can this film be considered innovation in your carrier?
- Fakhraddin Manafov: This film is very important and valuable for me. I can even say it is one of the most important works in my carrier. Firstly, beccasue, I was in this film when I celebrated my 50th birthday. Secondly, this film is about my Azerbaijan, my home country Karabakh. I was born in Khankendi on film day. I adore my job, I am ready to devote my life to this, actually I’ve already devoted and probably I will do it until the end of my life. On the other hand, this is the first historical film in my carrier. I am obliged to my friend and colleague Vagif Asadullayev for the film. He forced me to this. The conception of the film is very topical question for all Azerbaijanis-Karabakh problem. National idea is red line here. A nation is unhappy if it is deprived of national idea. I think happy nations are those who have national ideologies. Thanks God, we do have national ideology. I fell happy during every shooting process and unhappy when it ends. As if I closed one more page of my life. Sometimes, I feel as if my heart is hurting…
-Do you think your audience will accept you as Ibrahim Khahlil Khan?
-I cannot say. But I would like my audience to forget Zaur by looking at Ibrahimkhelil khan. Because this is a new page in my activity. The previous one was shot 14 years ago.
-How do you like you performance?
-I must say only Fakhraddin Manafov was abnormal for this film. All the rest actors were in archaic type, except me. I can feel this when watching the film. When I look at my face as actor you feel at once that he has just come form Khagani street.
-Was it difficult to give master-classes for actors?
-The main thing is the goal of actor. If you manage to explain the goal in a right way, he will accept if he is a lit bit skilful. Sometimes I remember telling an actor under the camera to turn your head to the right, look down and sigh… Being an actor is really difficult, he has to fulfill his professional duty regardless of his mood. I am not going to tell my way of teaching. I can simply say that if someone wants to be an actor I can make him an actor for a film in ten days. He can be starred in a film and everyone will see him a talented actor. But another day if he is not supervised he would fail to show a good performance. If you make more precise the goal before an actor, for instance you can make Gunesh Aliyeva, fourth-year student but was 2nd-year student when she was starred a professional actress. Pantomime Theatre’s actor Parviz was Fatali shah in the film. It seems to me it is the real Fatali Shah. I consider Mammad Sefa, Kamran Yunus, Vidadi Hasanov world-level actors. Aysu Afandiyeva, who has nothing to do with acting, was also starred in the film. She played the role of Javad Khan’s daughter. Russian Drama Theater’s actor, people’s artist Yuri Bariyev demonstrated his high professionalism and tolerance. Mehriban Zaki and Sanubar Iskandarli are starred in the film. Manaf Dadashov plays the role of Baku khan’s cousin Songulu aga. Mukhtar Ibadov was ill while being starred in the film. There was time that he became seriously ill and doctors banned him. But despite these, Mukhtar Ibadov made a call to Vagif and said that this film is about my homeland and I want to come and work. Lelyli Huseynli played the part of Ibrahim Khalil Khan’’s daughter Jovhar in the film.I want to underline Ali Jafarov among the actors especially. He does not concern profession of actor, he is working in bank field. He created Saday bey’s image. He did necessary feats himself. We spent 4 months for searching Saday bey. The historical film demands stature, beauty. Therefore we were not able to find Saday bey. Ali Jafarov is from Gubadli region. He has heart aches and he wanted to be starred in this film. Indifferent man can never take up this role. Russian actors Daniil Spivakovskiy, Alexander Galibin, Ilyar Shakunov, Tajik actor Saydo Gurbanov and others have been starred in the film.
-Mr.Vagif, you have already finished the main difficulties of the film. What stage are you at present?
-Vagif Asadullayev: We have already finished montage. We will start to sound film late in August. The minor roles in Azerbaijani will be sounded in Baku and the main roles in “Ton studio” functioning under “Mostfilm”. We are negotiating with the famous film company of Germany and “Barrandov” company of Czechia for the restoration of the film and copying. The film will be sounded in Dolby 1/5 in Azerbaijan. We will prepare the film till the end of the year. Post-production will be held in cinema companies “Mosfilm” and “RBS”. Then it will be broadcasted…
-When did you finish the shooting?
-Vagif Asadullayev: We ended shooting on October 3, 2006. The cabinet of Ministers, Defense Ministry, Finance Ministry, Culture and Tourism Ministry, especially Elchin Afandiyev and Abulfaz Garayev helped us. The arms, guns used in the film were prepared especially for the film. All whom we appealed for help assisted us. All the technical equipment, light and sound appliances have been brought from Moscow. The script is in high level and powerful. Our notable writer Elchin’s activity contribute to the formation of new generation from idea-esthetic point of view and continue contributing. Therefore, we did not wonder from the script. Elchin Afandiyev, Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev, chief of cinematography department of culture and tourism ministry Jahangir Mammadov and Polad Bulbuloglu have already watched the film and assessed it highly. The textiles, arms and guns used in the film were handed to “Javad khan” film disinterestedly. The textiles and jewelries used in the film were brought from Iran. Russian and Turkish cultural channels have already appealed to us for broadcasting the film. The negotiations are on now.
-Fakhraddin Manafov: One of the last stages of the film is its montage and sound recording. The man who knows the conception of the film can montage it. The film “Destiny of the king” is about loneliness of the king and the problem is statehood. Ibrahim Khalil becomes alone at the end as his surrenders do not agree with his policy. This film is about the consolidation of khanates and establishment of unique state in Azerbaijan at that time. The man who did montages of the film and finished it is the first producer of the film. This is law. It can not be the other way. Vagif Asadullayev did the all the montages of the film. Montage is the main momentum of the film. The last shooting was on October 3, 2006 and Vagif Asadullayev dealt with the montage till August 1, 2007, this person thought about nothing except it.
-Vagif Asadullayev: Erector Elshad Rahimov worked together with me within this period.
-Where will be the premiere?
-Vagif Asadullayev: The premiere will be held in Baku.
-And your wishes about the film?
-Fakhraddin Manafov: I have only one wish, to broadcast this film so that I can reap the fruit of my labour. I want to see patriotism and Karabakh sorrow in the eyes of Azerbaijanis. If I can see it, then it worth living…
-Vagif Asadullayev: I wish Azerbaijani nation watch this film and improve their self-esteem, national value. We should never forget that the events in the film concern our homeland. Karabakh should not be forgotten…

-Fakhraddin Manafov: Some can say that why do you give interview, no one asks you anything. I want to say that we lived brave life together with the participants of the film. We lived such life in which there were loving couples, someone had child, one hated another. This film was a lived life and this life was about my profession and Karabakh problem. /APA/
