German ambassador to Azerbaijan visits Shamkir and Khanlar regions

The ambassador first arrived in Shamkir and got acquainted with the archeological excavations jointly carried out near Garajamili village by Azerbaijan-Germany-Georgia archeological expedition. Following this, Mr.Stankina left for Khanlar. He met with head of executive power of the region Arif Seyidov.
The German diplomat visited Lutheran church in Khanlar region which is being repaired by financial support of German Agency for Technical Cooperation. He expressed gratitude for the rehabilitation works.
â€œGerman government defrays all expenses for these works. This is one of the examples of hot relations between Germany and Azerbaijan. We will attend the opening of the church in December,â€ the ambassador stressed.
Mr.Stankina also visited the houses built by Germans once living in Khanlar region and which are now preserved as historical monument and also Khanlar Champagne plant built by Germans too.
German ambassador will visit Naftalan today. /APA/
