Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan meets chief of Israel-Azerbaijan Association

The ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Israel to Azerbaijan Artur Lenk met with the leaders of Israel-Azerbaijan International Association, APA’s Israel bureau reports.
Mr.Lenk said that the association is natural friendship bridge and this bridge is built by the people not by the states:”I believe that Jews living in Azerbaijan and moved from Azerbaijan to Israel will play an important role in the relations” said Mr.Lenk.
Ambassador underlined that very close relations are established in economic and business spheres touching intergovernmental relations.
He said that trade turnover reached $28 million in 2006 while it stood at $5 million in 2005:”Israel receives oil from Azerbaijan via Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan, which is the most important fact. Moreover, bilateral relations are strengthening gradually and ministers meet more often” added ambassador.
Mr.Lenk underlined that about half of Azerbaijani ministers visited Israel in the half of 2007 reminding his meeting with the president. He said that Azerbaijan’s and Israel’s positions agree in many strategic issues./APA/
