Japanese dolls exhibition opened in Baku

Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tadehiro Abe said first such activity was held in April 2004. “It is the second visit of “Japanese dolls” to Azerbaijan. 70 dolls are to be exhibited this time. Japan has a rich culture of dolls which depicts it history, traditions and customs, even its legends. Dolls as a part of daily life of Japanese have different and special meanings connecting nation with its ancient history”.
The Ambassador said the exhibition made trips world wide and arrived in Baku from Cologne.
“This exhibition will leave for Ljubljana of Slovenia. It is very important for us to expand relations with Azerbaijan in cultural fields. I suppose this cooperation will further deepen. Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Adalat Valiyev said dolls takes tour to Japanese history. Deputy Minister emphasized the exhibition of Japanese dolls secondly displayed in Baku caused enormous interest. The display of the exhibition will last till June 30. /APA/
