German Ambassador: We are informed about graves of German captives in Azerbaijan

“The past of the region of Shamkir is connected with Germany, therefore, I want to visit this region,†German Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Per Stankina told journalists, APA’s west bureau reports.
Attending the business forum in Ganja, Per Stankina said Shamkir governorship invited him to the region.
“Archeological excavations concerning Germany have been carried out in Shamkir. These excavations demonstrate the region’s ancient history. I would like to see that archeological center. We know that captives brought from Germany after the World War II were buried in five graveyards in the region. I want to visit these cemeteries but do not know where they are situated,†he said. /APA/
