The bilateral security talks between Azerbaijan and the US have not been rescheduled, US Embassy public affairs officer Jonathan Henick told the APA.
The embassy officer said that the date of the security talks is being specified at present.
“Both US and Azerbaijan are willing to hold the talks as soon as possible,” he said.
Mr.Henick said that the security talks will cover cooperation in security, bilateral military cooperation, Azerbaijani servicemen’s activity in Iraq and Afghanistan, plans on fighting terrorism, regional security and other issues.
The security talks were scheduled for April 23-24 in Washington. Azerbaijani government postponed the high-level visit due to the changes in the initial 2006 US State Department Country Reports on Human Rights Practices.
As the State Department changed the language of the report back, Azerbaijan said there is no problem in holding of the security talks./APA/
