Azerbaijanâ€™s Foreign Minister addresses event at German Society for Foreign Policy - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

State and government representatives of Germany also attended the event, Foreign Ministryâ€™s press service told APA. Addressing the event former Foreign Minister of Germany Hans-Dietrich Genscher highly appreciated Elmar Mammadyarovâ€™s visit and expressed his confidence that the visit would contribute to the cooperation between the two countries. Genscher underlined the importance of improving the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany. German diplomat characterized Azerbaijan as a country ensuring stability in the Caucasus and highly appreciated Azerbaijanâ€™s role in the successful realization of the regional energy and transport projects.

Addressing the event Elmar Mammadyarov gave detailed information about Azerbaijanâ€™s macroeconomic indicators, its social-economic policy, spoke about the countryâ€™s achievements. Minister said Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the cooperation with the European Union, informed about the steps taken by the government in this direction, joint projects.

Drawing attention to Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict Elmar Mamadyarov said Armeniaâ€™s aggressive policy is the major obstacle for the Caucasusâ€™ integration into Europe and Euro-Atlantic area. Elmar Mammadyarov underlined that the conflict must be solved only basing on the principles of the international law, within the framework of Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity and called on the European Union to demonstrate fair position based on the norms and principles of the international law.
