Azerbaijan hosts International Humanitarian Forum

Baku. Victoria Dementeva – APA. International Humanitarian Forum “XXI century: Hopes and Challenges” is being held in Baku today. APA reports that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also attends the forum. The appeal of Russian President Vladimir Putin was read, UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova video appeal was demonstrated and ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz bin Osman al-Tuveycri, made a speech during the opening ceremony of the forum.
Round tables on the following directions will be held tomorrow within the forum: “Humanitarian aspects of economic development models”, “Modern media and challenges”, “New methodological approaches to globalization processes in XXI century”, “Multiculturalism and cultural consciousness” and “Multiculturalism in public life”.
Baku Declaration will be adopted within the forum. About 600 representatives from 100 countries are attending the forum, among them more than 10 Nobel Prize winners, 15 former presidents, heads of government, ministers of various countries, outstanding figures on science, education and culture.
Baku International Humanitarian Forum is an annual event, which gathers statesmen, Nobel winners and heads of authoritative international organizations, including famous representatives of political, scientific and cultural elite of the world for holding wide spectrum dialogues and discussions.
The initiators of the Forum in 2010 were Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and his counterpart, former President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
