PACE Monitoring Co-chair: â€œWe are waiting for Bakuâ€™s responseâ€

Strasburg. Fuad Gulubayli â€“ APA. Today, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has held the meeting of Monitoring Committee within its autumn session.

The issues concerning Azerbaijan were discussed during the meeting. PACE Monitoring Co-chair Andres Herkel told APAâ€™s European bureau that the work on development of the report of current situation of Azerbaijani liability was discusses at the meeting: â€œWe sent our report to Azerbaijan at the beginning of September and we are waiting for Bakuâ€™s response now. According to the procedures, Azerbaijan has 3 months time for its response. We hope that Azerbaijan will be able to submit its liability report to the discussion of PACE January session. Thatâ€™s why main discussion on the reports will be held in Committeeâ€™s January sessionâ€.

Herkel mentioned that Ramil Safarov Case was also discussed during the meeting: â€œThough the case wasnâ€™t widely discussed, this issue was put into agenda and was discussed a littleâ€.
