First Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament criticizes draft-resolution by US congressmen on South Azerbaijan

Baku. Parvin Abbasov â€“ APA. â€œAzerbaijan has close relations with Iran. If someone has a problem, he can go and settle it by himselfâ€, said the First Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov while commenting on the draft-resolution developed by the US congressmen concerning South Azerbaijan. He accused some forces of creating problem for Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani people in order to worsen the relations between Iran and Azerbaijan: â€œBoth Iran and Azerbaijan recognize the territorial integrity of each other. Submission of the very resolution to the White House and the discussion of it in the US Congress contradict sincerity towards Azerbaijan. Itâ€™d be better, if the same congressmen called on the US President, OSCE Minsk group co-chairs to assist Azerbaijan in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and to exert pressure on Armenia that occupied the 20% of the territory of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has no particular desire for the lands of any country of the worldâ€.

But Deputy Igbal Agazadeh said that Azerbaijan and Iran arenâ€™t friends.
