U.S. Embassy Baku informs U.S. citizens of possible demonstrations to take place in front of the U.S. Embassy and the Embassy of France in Azerbaijan

The police were able to keep them out of Embassy. The demonstrators protested against publications in the French “Charlie Hebdoâ€, mocking the Prophet Mohammad and recent escalation provoked by blasphemy against Islam.
Several protestors have been detained. The AIP is defining their numbers.
U.S. Embassy Baku has warned U.S. citizens of possible demonstrations to take place in front of the U.S. Embassy and the Embassy of France in Baku on Saturday, September 29.
The embassy urged its citizens to exercise caution if traveling to those sections of the city and to avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations. â€Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violenceâ€.
