Azerbaijani and Germany Foreign Affairs Departments hold consultations

Press service of the Ministry told APA that Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, Germany delegation â€“ by the special representative of Germany Foreign Ministry for East Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Antye Lendertze.

Stressing that Germany is the main strategic partner for Azerbaijan, Khalaf Khalafov mentioned the great potential for the extension of the development of mutual cooperation between the states. Speaking about Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict, deputy foreign minister spoke about the present situation of peaceful talks concerning the conflict solution. He mentioned that Armenia using any pretexts in order to prolong the conflict solution though peaceful way. The main condition for the conflict solution is withdrawal of the Armenian troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and the settlement of IDPs in their native lands.

Considering Azerbaijan as a main strategic partner in the region, the head of Germany delegation, Antye Lendertze focused attention on the issues that such regular consultations contribute to the development of the mutual strategic relations between the states. She mentioned the role of Azerbaijan in the energy sphere and stressed the importance of the cooperation in the above mentioned sphere.
