Romania hosts international conference on Azerbaijanâ€™s role in European energy security â€“ <font color=red> PHOTO </font>

Baku- APA. An international conference on the role of Azerbaijan in European energy security was organized in Bucharest on October 25 by the Azerbaijani embassy in Romania and Romanian-Azerbaijani Cultural and Youth Association with the support of the Azerbaijan State Committee for Diaspora Activity.

Panel discussions on European energy security, challenges, policies and commitments, research of roles of energy suppliers for the European markets, Azerbaijan as a reliable strategic partner in European energy security and supply, Caspian and Black Sea cooperation in the period of globalization and national prospects wee held within the conference. Romania government officials, ambassador and consuls of 32 countries, leaders of the Black Sea-Caspian Cooperation and Partnership Fund, SOCARâ€™s representative in Romania, director of conflict prevention and early warning center, chief of the Nabucco consortiumâ€™s public relations department participated and addressed the conference.

They spoke about the geopolitical position of Azerbaijan in crossroad of main commercial routes through the North-South and East-West transport and energy corridors, how the country became energy and infrastructure network, energy policy and oil strategy founded by Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully developed by President Ilham Aliyev, approved and potential natural resources of Azerbaijan. There was wide exchange of ideas about the export of Azerbaijani energy resources to the European markets, Turkey, Georgia, Russia and Iran, importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil and Baku-Tblisi-Erzrum gas pipelines, NABUCCO, ITGI, AGRI and Azerbaijanâ€™s role in their realization. It was noted at the conference that regional conflicts, including Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict are real threats to the stable energy security and supply of Europe in the future.
