APA reports quoting Interfax that governor of Astrakhan province Alexander Zhillkin also attended the ceremony. Addressing the ceremony Azerbaijani President expressed his gratitude to the governor and people of Astrakhan for supporting the initiative to erect a monument to Heydar Aliyev.
“This is a symbol of strengthening of the friendship between our people. I am sure that this monument will be a symbol of our friendship and brotherhood and become an important factor in the development of the bilateral relations,†he said.
