Argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs receives Azerbaijani ambassador - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Mammad Ahmadzadeh spoke about Azerbaijanâ€™s socio-political situation, dynamic economic growth, energy strategy, policy pursued to ensure the development of other spheres of economy, social welfare in the country at the cost of the revenues from the oil and gas sector. Giving information about Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign policy Mammad Ahmadzadeh underlined that the policy aimed at ensuring the countryâ€™s national interests, development of mutual, productive and friendly relations with all countries.

Mammad Ahmadzadeh said the most important issue in Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign policy was the solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict, noted that as a result of Armeniaâ€™s aggression 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories had been occupied, Armenia had carried out ethnic cleansing policy against the Azerbaijanis, about one million Azerbaijan had been displaced, Azerbaijanâ€™s historical-cultural heritage destroyed by Armenia in the
occupied territories. Noting that our country was interested in the peaceful solution to the conflict the diplomat informed about Azerbaijanâ€™s position.

Ambassador underlined that people of different ethnic and religious affiliation were living in friendly and peaceful atmosphere in Azerbaijan, spoke about the countryâ€™s activity for promotion of intercultural dialogue in the international arena.

Mammad Ahmadzadeh said the geographical coverage of Azerbaijanâ€™s diplomatic representation was extending, underlined that establishment of Azerbaijanâ€™s embassy in Argentine was the countryâ€™s first diplomatic representation in South America, gave information about the plans of the embassyâ€™s activity.

Hector Timerman expressed his satisfaction with the Azerbaijani governmentâ€™s decision to open embassy in Argentine and said that fact would give an impetus to the development of the relations between the two countries. Minister underlined that Argentine was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan, noted the expedience of using the existing opportunities for the development of the cooperation. Expressing his satisfaction with the ongoing economic development in Azerbaijan, usage of the incomes from energy sector for the development of other spheres, Hector Timerman said Argentine had large experience in agricultural sector and was ready to share its experience with Azerbaijan.

The sides underlined the importance of making mutual visits on the highest level, developing legal framework, economic, cultural, educational, humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, promoting contacts and public diplomacy.
