Iranian ambassador: â€œIf Rashid Aliyev doesnâ€™t get out of Zionistsâ€™ hand, we will take necessary measures together with the government of Azerbaijanâ€

The ambassador considers that Rashid Aliyev was distorting the realities: â€œThis man was working for a private company in one of the Iranian provinces. If he has some legal or financial claims, it is his own place. According to the Iranian laws, this man was accused in espionage and sentenced. I discussed this issue with Azerbaijani and Iranian officials and it was proposed to pardon him and to release him from remaining part of the imprisonment in Iran. This proposal was reviewed in legal proceeding and accepted by the Iranian justice system. I coordinated the issue with the Azerbaijani ambassador and consul in Iran, relevant organizations of Iran and he was handed over at the Tehran airport. It was taken into account that he is a university professor. His relatives and some official organizations also addressed us. He was sitting next to me on board of the plane and I handed over him in Baku to the representatives of the Azerbaijanâ€™s Justice Ministry. They thanked us for this. He also thanked while being on board of the plane. He said he was satisfied with his detention conditions in Iran. Iranian jails are like a foster home. There are all accommodations for living and there is even Internet access thereâ€.

The diplomat considers that Rashid Aliyev is under the influence of the enemies of Iran and Azerbaijan.
â€œAzerbaijanâ€™s Justice Ministry refutes his statements. I think he is under the influence of Zionists and Israeli aggressive regime. We have got necessary documents. We will submit them to the court. Our court has not completed hearing on his case, the Iranian side released him to demonstrate goodwill. When he called to get his passport back, I asked him why he made contradicting statements in media and in the presence of justice officials and me. He said journalists misrepresented his words. I advised him to make refutation. Anyway, I hope he will get out of the hands of the enemies of the two countries, otherwise, we will take necessary measures together with the government of Azerbaijan,â€ he said.
