Milli Mejlis chairman Ogtay Asadov receives newly-appointed Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. Chairman of Milli Mejlis, Azerbaijani parliament, Ogtay Asadov received newly-appointed Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan Heydar Shiah al-Barrak on Wednesday. According to APA, Asadov congratulated the ambassador on his new appointment. He highly appreciated the historic, religious and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq. “Azerbaijan has joined the US-led global war on terrorism since its very beginning. Azerbaijani peacekeepers are ready further to support Iraq. Azerbaijani leadership has strong will to develop relationship with the Republic of Iraq. It is necessary also to develop commercial and economic relations between the countriesâ€.
The newly-appointed Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan Heydar Shiah al-Barrak said they were interested in further deepening of relations between the countries and peoples. The ambassador informed the parliament speaker about the socio-political situation in his country.
