Sergei Narishkin presents Victory 65 medals in Baku - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

The presentation ceremony was organized at the Russian embassy in Azerbaijan, APA reports. Narishkin said 2010 was declared a year of veterans in CIS countries. He emphasized the role of former soviet republics in the victory and thanked Azerbaijani leadership, politicians, scientists and public figures for their position in assessment of the World War II and Great Patriotic War.

Narishkin said he would present the victory jubilee medal and honorary diploma to President Ilham Aliyev today. He also thanked the Azerbaijani president, Azerbaijani veterans and military servicemen for their participation in the Victory 65 celebrations in Moscow.

Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin said Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani people played great role in achieving victory in the Great Patriotic War in 1941-1945 and reminded that 80 percent of fuel used in the front line was Azerbaijani oil.

The jubilee medals were presented to the members of the Council of War, Labor, Armed Forces and Law-Enforcement Veterans, Public Union of the Leningrad Blockade Witnesses, head of the executive power of Narimanov district of Baku Abdin Farzaliyev and Russian embassy in Azerbaijan.

Narishkin visited Heydar Aliyevâ€™s memorial at the Alley of Honor and the Alley of martyrs on Monday.
