Peter Semneby: â€œThe International courtâ€™s ruling on Kosovo will have no impact on Abkhazian and South Ossetian problemsâ€

Victoria Dementieva â€“ APA. â€œThe court passed decision on a unique issue only â€“ does the Kosovoâ€™s declaration of independence violate the international law or does the international law prohibit such declarations? The court didnâ€™t express opinion on Kosovoâ€™s right to independence or legal implementation of the declarationâ€, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby said, APA reports quoting Voice of Russia radio station. He said the international courtâ€™s ruling on Kosovo had no impact on other situations, particularly Abkhazian and South Ossetian problems. â€œI consider if it has an impact, it will be inconsiderable. These issues are different despite they are compared with each other. In both cases, declaration of independence doesnâ€™t make them similarâ€.

On July 22, the International Court of Justice issued its advisory opinion that Kosovoâ€™s declaration of independence was in accordance with international law.
