Iranian President appoints Special Representative for Caspian Sea Affairs

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has appointed Mohamed Mehdi Akhundzadeh Special Representative for Caspian Sea Affairs. Akhundzadeh also serves as Deputy Foreign Minister for Law and International Affairs. Akhundzadeh replaced Mehdi Safari in his new position. Earlier, Safari was appointed the country’s new ambassador to China.
