President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev: â€œThe Georgian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and friendship became a very important factor in the worldâ€

Baku â€“ APA. â€œThe Azerbaijani-Georgian relations are based on a rich history. Our peoples live in a friendship and fraternity throughout the centuries and helped each otherâ€, said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in a joint press conference with the Georgian president in Batumi, APA reports quoting AzerTAC News Agency. The Head of State said Georgia and Azerbaijan had a very active cooperation in all spheres. â€œWe have a many-branched cooperation, which covers all spheres and has strong historic basis. Our duty is to develop traditional friendship and fraternity between our peoples, to enrich it and to use maximum potential of the Georgian-Azerbaijani strategic partnershipâ€.
The President noted both countries jointly implemented huge projects.
â€œBaku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Supsa, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum oil and gas pipelines not only ensure interests of Georgia and Azerbaijan but also contribute to strengthening energy security. As a result of successful implementation of these projects we embarked on the railway project,â€ said the Azerbaijani leader. President Aliyev also touched upon cooperation in the power industry.
â€œAzerbaijan and Georgia have strongly coordinated and resolved all determined issues so far. We must look ahead, find new projects, implement them, and, thus, strengthen Georgia-Azerbaijan relationsâ€.

Answering the Rustavi TVâ€™s question, President Ilham Aliyev said both countries had a successful cooperation in all spheres: â€œWe have a very successful cooperation in all spheres. We are realizing railway plans and our joint energy projects exceeded the regional scale. The Georgian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and friendship became a very important factor in the world. The situation in the region became more predictable due to the strengthening of our relationship and solution of the new issues. We are loyal to these relations and we are happy that the Azerbaijani and Georgian people lived in a friendship throughout the history and are in sympathy with each other. It contributes to the development of bilateral relationsâ€.
â€œWe are seriously discussion the economic, industrial and political issues. But humanitarian cooperation has also a great sense. The Georgian living in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis in Georgia are a bridge between our countries. They are valuable citizens of our country. They love their homeland and fulfill the ties of patriotism with an honor. Our relations have deep historic roots. We are using present realities and opportunities usefully. We have to do so that future generations also live with these ideas and feelings that Georgia and Azerbaijan live in a friendship and fraternity foreverâ€.
