EU representative: “A visa-free travel is not intended between EU and Azerbaijan”

He said the sides intended to ease the visa regime to be a time and money saver. “A visa-free travel is out of the question. All these processes are coordinated. Illegal travelers to the European Union will return back. We are conducting technical negotiations with Azerbaijan. We will value the technical level after receiving answers to our technical questions. The technical opportunities will be analyzed and then the European Commission will be authorized to conduct negotiations. I can’t say anything about the time because we have not received answers yet”.

The EU representative said the European Commission submitted a report on Azerbaijan in April, 2010, which valued a progress achieved in Azerbaijan. “The report says that Azerbaijan achieved a progress, but it needs to move forward in some fields as well. We welcome the progress in the fields of economy and public administration, but much attention should be given to political dialogue and reforms, justice, supremacy of law.
