Mahmoud Mammad-Guliyev: “The Azerbaijan-EU talks on the associative agreement will be held on four groupsâ€

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA. A press conference on beginning of the Azerbaijan-EU talks on the associative agreement was held on Friday in Baku.
According to APA, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahmoud Mammad-Guliyev called the beginning of preparation of a new legal document entitled as an associative agreement as a great step and noted that the talks will be held on four groups: political dialogue (security issues, foreign policy and etc.), negotiations on justice (human rights and etc.), economic talks (socio-humanitarian) and trade talks. “The Azerbaijan-EU relations are deepening and developing and just for that reason Azerbaijan agreed to begin talks on the associative agreementâ€.
“The next meeting of the agreement talks will be held in October, 2010 in Brussels and third one – in Baku in December, 2010. The sides are planning to hold video-conferences besides the meetingsâ€, said Mammad-Guliyev.
In his turn, EU chief negotiator John Cryer said Azerbaijan gave an importance to the economic growth and stability in the country and noted that the agreement is inevitable and important for Azerbaijan’s political association and economic integration. “This new legal document will give new impetus to Azerbaijan and secure a long-term stabilityâ€.
