Final document of international symposium in Turkey covers proposal to declare 2010 as â€œYear of Karabakh and Khojalyâ€

Istanbul â€“ APA. Symposium â€œHuman rights problems of Turks and our Muslims compatriots in the recent historyâ€ ended in Bursa, Turkey. APA reports that about 100 representatives from 50 countries attended the symposium. Final declaration was adopted at the end of the event.

The declaration covers a number of issues proposed by the participants. The final document also covered the proposals of the Azerbaijani delegation. Member of the delegation Ganira Pashayeva spoke about the violated rights of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis deported from Armenia in 1948-53 and in the 90s, genocides committed by Armenians against the Azerbaijanis.

The parliamentarian offered the Turks living all over the world to declare 2010 as â€œYear of Karabakh and Khojalyâ€. Ganira Pashayeva offered the Turks living all over the world to hold actions, marches, meetings in connection with the Khojaly genocide and inform the world community about it.

Everybody of you should inform public community and mass media of your countries about the realities, send letters to the international organizations, particularly human right organizations to protest the Khojaly genocide committed by Armenia and turning of one million Azerbaijanis into refugees and internally displaced persons. The Khojaly genocide committed by Armenia before the worldâ€™s eyes is a tragedy of not only the Azerbaijani Turks, but all Turkic world and they will extend their activity toward the accepting of their fair positions to give international value to this issue and to punish the guilty peopleâ€.

Ganira Pashayeva noted that she witnessed that Turkic and Muslim world request more support from Azerbaijan. â€œMost speakers at the symposium requested support of Azerbaijan. Notwithstanding our Karabakh problem, I was proud of the position of our Turk and Muslim brothers. It is arisen from the influence of Azerbaijan in the Turkic and Muslim worldâ€.
