Presentation on enactment of Lisbon treaty of European Union held in Baku - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku. Viktoria Dementieva - APA. The presentation on the enactment of Lisbon treaty of the European Union has been held today in Baku. APA reports that the presentation was organized by head of the EU representation in Azerbaijan, ambassador Roland Kobia. According to Roland Kobia, the agreement opens new horizons for new Europe and accelerates integration into Europe.
â€œLisbon treaty will make positive contributions to the relations with new Europe, world countries and particularly Azerbaijan,â€ he said.
The diplomat said the European Union will function more efficiently after the Lisbon treaty comes into force.

Lisbon treaty was signed in the capital of Portugal on December 13, 2007 and came into force on December 1 this year. According to the treaty, post of president of EU heads of state and government was created. Former Prime Minister of Belgium Herman Van Rompuy was elected to this post for a five year term. The organization also created the post of High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The person holding this post is at the same time considered the first vice-president of the European Commission. Since December 1, Baku office of the organization has been called representation of the European Union.
