Azerbaijani embassy in Russia holds commemoration ceremony on 6th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s death

Moscow. Roman Aghayev – APA. A commemoration ceremony dedicated to 6th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s death was held at the Azerbaijani embassy in Russia. Opening the ceremony, Azerbaijani ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu characterized Heydar Aliyev as an outstanding leader, person and Azerbaijani national, APA Moscow bureau chief reports. “I am proud of that I worked as a minister of culture during the 10 years of presidency of Heydar Aliyev and carried out a number of important activities under his leadership. It was very great school and university and nowhere we can get the diploma of such university”, - said the ambassador.
Special representative of the Russian president for international cultural cooperation Mikhail Shvidkoy said Heydar Aliyev lived in Moscow for long years, but never cut ties with his homeland. “He never forgot his country and homeland responded him for his love. Today Azerbaijan is a stable, prosperous and important country for whole region and Eurasia”, said Shvidkoy. CIS executive secretary Sergei Lebedev said he was proud of that he knew Heydar Aliyev personally and met with him for many times. “Heydar Aliyev was internationalist and he cordially wished that our peoples have close ties. Incumbent president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is successfully following this policy. Azerbaijan was and will always be influential and important member of CIS”.
Azerbaijan’s vice prime minister Yagub Eyyubov, representatives of the Russian foreign ministry, members of the State Duma and Council of Federation, diplomatic corps in Moscow, Russian community and Azerbaijani Diaspora attended the ceremony.
