Azerbaijanis picket outside main office of Euronews in Lyon

Coordinator of the Ireli Public Union Aydin Mammadov told APA that about 50 Azerbaijanis from 7 European cities participated in the picket. The picketers condemned the Euronews report about the occupied Azerbaijani territories, which introduced the separatist regime of Nagorno Karabakh as an independent state and head of the separatists Bako Saakyan as â€œpresidentâ€. Mammadov said the Armenians living in France could not prevent the picket.
â€œPolice were protecting public order. The picketers demanded the channel to stop preparing biased reports about Nagorno Karabakh, raised posters on informing the objective information about the occupied Azerbaijani territories, chanted slogans in English and French,â€ he said.

Mammadov said resolution had been adopted in the picket and editor-in-chief of the TV channel met with the youth. The statement was presented to the editor-in-chief.
â€œHe said he had understood our demands and said he would visit Azerbaijan on January 17, 2010 and shoot a report about the IDPs,â€ he said.

Mammadov said there was no incident, or interference during the picket.
