Mayor of London: â€œThe United Kingdom and Azerbaijan value each other as a long-term partnerâ€

Lachin Sultanova â€“ APA. â€œThe United Kingdom and Azerbaijan value each other as a long-term partnerâ€, said Mayor of London Alderman Ian Luder at the press conference on the results of his visit to Baku, APA reports. He said the goal of the visit is the strengthening of the relations between the two countries. President Ilham Aliyev received the British delegation. They also met with the ministers of finance, economic development, communication and information technologies and chairman of the National Bank. â€œThe United Kingdom is ready to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy and non-oil sectorâ€, said the Mayor and noted that he is proud of that the United Kingdom is the largest foreign investor in Azerbaijan. He said the delegation achieved certain agreements in the meetings they held in Azerbaijan. According to Mayor Luder, British companies are warmly welcomed in Azerbaijan. The Mayor said Nabucco project created new opportunities for the investors. He said UK and Azerbaijan had wide opportunities for extension of cooperation in the financial sector, information technologies and education.
