Public Peacemaking Forum on Nagorno Karabakh conflict postponed

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva â€“APA. The Public Peacemaking Forum on the peaceful solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict scheduled in July was postponed. International Alert, the forumâ€™s organizer said the meeting would be held in autumn, APA reports. The forum decided to avoid the politicization of the public dialogue on the back of the intensification of the negotiations over the conflict solution. The International Alert said the negotiations were intensified recently. â€œMany in the region welcome such development of the process, but such intensification creates fears and concerns in the society. The public peacemaking forum is not a political process, but the political situation has an impact on the public peace and peopleâ€™s diplomacy as well. We donâ€™t intend to allow the politicization of the dialogue. Our Public Peacemaking Forum could protect its non-political essence so farâ€, said the International Alert in its statement and added that the postponement of the forum until the autumn would allow elaboration of more exact format and agenda.
