Presidents of Azerbaijan and Syria have one-on-one meeting

President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva welcomed President Bashar al-Assad and his spouse Asma al-Asadi.

Azerbaijanâ€™s state and government representatives were introduced to Bashar al-Assad and members of Syrian delegation were introduced to Ilham Aliyev.

Following the official welcoming ceremony, President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva had a meeting with President Bashar al-Assad and his spouse Asma al-Asadi. The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Syria had one-on-one meeting afterwards.

The presidents expressed their satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries and expressed confidence that the bilateral ties would further be expanded henceforth.
It was noted at the meeting that the visit would give an impetus to Azerbaijan â€“ Syria bilateral relations to step into a new stage.

Moreover, they exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional and international issues.
